Invested in Boater Safety and Clean Waterways since 1981

With millions of boaters on the water, our mission is to reduce accidents and fatalities, increase stewardship of our waterways, and keep boating a safe and enjoyable pastime.

Level up your Skills

Courses for Boaters of all Experience Levels

Keep Our Waterways Safe

Abandoned & Derelict Vessels

In 2023, The BoatUS Foundation was awarded a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association Marine Debris Program for the removal of abandoned and derelict vessels (ADVs). The project components also include the development of a national database to track ADVs in the United States, U.S. Territories and Freely Associated States.

Protect Endangered Species

North Atlantic Right Whale

Learn about our comprehensive education and outreach initiative to protect the critically endangered North Atlantic Right Whale. We aim to increase boater awareness of safe speed guidelines, whale detection tools, and reporting resources to reduce vessel strikes.
