Know the difference between this exam and the Florida course

This test differs from the Florida Permanent Boater Education Course since it only grants a temporary boating certification valid for 90 days. Once issued, this certification will expire after 90 days.

For a permanent, lifetime Boater Education ID Card, individuals must complete a separate the full Florida course and pass its associated exam.

There is no study material for the 90 day Florida course.  It is only a test. 

If you completed the BoatUS NASBLA approved course for Florida, BoatUS will automatically send your information to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.  Depending on what you selected when you completed the Boater Profile prior to taking the course, the FWC will either email an electronic card within 72 hours of course completion or they will mail a hard plastic card within 6 – 8 weeks.  If you selected the electronic card but do not see it in your inbox, please check your junk mail.  If you have not received either an electronic card or a hard plastic card, please contact the FWC directly to request an update.  The email to reach them is bobbercard@myfwc.com 

Please note: If you selected the hard plastic card, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission will issue a one time hard plastic card.  If you need a replacement card, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission will only issue an electronic card that will be sent to your email on file.  There is no option to receive both style cards, it is one or the other. 

If you completed the Florida 90 day temporary course, your information will not be sent to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.  All you will receive is the certificate that you can print out from your account. 

No, you would need to take the lifetime course from the beginning.  Please log into your account, the select the Course Catalog button, and then select Florida.  Even though it is 2-4 hours to complete, this certificate is good for a lifetime and you will not need to retake the 2-4 hour course or the rental course.
