What is the course about and why do I need it?
The BoatUS Foundation’s Online Course is NOT Approved by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to satisfy the mandatory education requirements for boaters and PWC operators.
The course can be used as a refresher or study guide for an in person class or proctored exam.

How do I get an Illinois boating safety education certificate?
Anyone born after January 1, 1998, and operating a vessel powered by a motor of more than 10hp in the state of Illinois, must enroll in a course through a certified state education provider
