Pennsylvania State Boating Safety Course

This course is recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard, approved by NASBLA and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Enrollment requires a $17 payment collected for the state in order to be issued a state sponsored boater safety card.

What is the format of the course?

You’ll learn through interactive lessons, videos, and quizzes, then pass a final exam to earn your state-approved boating safety certificate.

State Education Requirements

How do I get a Pennsylvania boating safety education certificate?

If you do not possess a PA Boating Safety Certificate issued by the Commission, but have earned a certificate from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, the U.S. Power Squadrons or another course approved by the Commission, you can send it to the Commission by mail, along with $10, to get your PA Boating Safety Education Certificate.

The paper certificate issued by BoatU.S. Foundation in valid for 60 days from the date of completion. Please allow 4-6 weeks for your official Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Boater’s Education card to arrive.
